About Centreville Animal Hospital
Centreville Veterinary Hospital prides itself on being a traditional small-town veterinary hospital but with state-of-the-art technology and exceptional personal care for dogs and cats.
It is also a family practice, with long-term clients and professional staff with decades of experience.
In fact, for over six decades, Centreville Veterinary Hospital in suburban Wilmington has served the community and its pets with excellent veterinary care. The hospital building was purchased by Dr. William F. Butler in the early 1960s. Dr. Donald Coats joined the practice in 1967. Dr. Steve Butler succeeded his father in the practice in 1995.
In 2008, Centreville Veterinary Hospital became an affiliate partner of Windcrest Animal Hospital.
Dr. Don Coats continues to provide personal care and attention, along with their core support staff. Our team loves their work, and loves their clients, and prides themselves with establishing a “first-name basis” with as many of the over 3,000 dogs and cats (and their owners) as possible. All of our staff has a deep understanding of the love their clients have for their pets.
One of Centreville Veterinary Hospital’s hallmarks is our digital record keeping as well as our digital x-ray technology, which provides instant, accurate medical history for each of our clients in detail. Our digital technology greatly enhances our medical staff’s ability to assess our clients’ medical needs as well as provide personal insights.
With digital x-ray technology, our clients are able to have their diagnostic information available almost immediately, and can view it along with our medical staff on computer monitors in our examining rooms.
On-site, Centreville Veterinary Hospital offers veterinary services including wellness care, sick care, dentistry, surgery as well as digital x-rays. Lab tests are performed in-house, or submitted to special veterinary clinical testing facilities. We also offer boarding, bathing and professional grooming.
We offer critical care hospitalization and 24-hour emergency services at our affiliate partner, Windcrest Animal Hospital in Wilmington. Our core focus is on dogs and cats, so we refer avians and exotics to our affiliate partners. We also refer our clients to our affiliate partner for ultrasound, cardiology, dermatology, and rehabilitation services.
All of our doctors and support staff believe in our mission, to perform good work and earn our clients’ trust in guiding their pets to optimal health and comfortable longevity. Our tools are preventative medicine, wellness exams, counseling, and treating sickness as it may occur. Our goal at Centreville Veterinary Hospital is for our clients to view us as their “other” family healthcare team.
