Heartworm Prevention For Cats And Dogs

Spread by mosquitoes, heartworms can cause lung and heart problems and can be life threatening to both canines and felines. We suggest year-round heartworm prevention by giving a monthly medication to both dogs and cats.

Wellness Testing For Cats And Dogs

Intestinal Parasite Testing

Pets can easily be infected by intestinal parasites, a source of disease in not only cats and dogs, but also in the humans who care for them. The four most common parasites affecting pets are hookworms, whipworms, tapeworms, and roundworms.

We are able to identify, treat, and prevent the parasites your pet may encounter by administering fecal testing for parasites biannually. The monthly medication used to resist heartworms also helps to prevent parasites.

Wellness Bloodwork

  • Bloodwork (including Chemistry, CBC, and Thyroid) is vital for evaluating the state of your pet’s internal organs.
  • A complete blood count (CBC) delivers valuable information to identify anemia, infection, blood-borne parasites and abnormal blood cells.
  • A Chemistry Screen assesses several organs, including the kidneys and liver. With a Chem Screen, we examine levels of blood proteins, electrolytes, and glucose to monitor for the onset of diabetes.
  • A Thyroid Screen helps gauge the probability of an underactive or overactive thyroid gland.
